In 2013, they relocated to beautiful Wears Valley, TN to carry out their dream to live in the mountains and get to know those who enjoy the same adventures and activities they do! Through GSM Outfitters LLC, Michael and Heather strive to bring quality hiking gear and camping accessories to make your outdoor experience even better!
What a great little shop. And by little, I don’t mean small selection! I was shocked to walk in and see tons of both fun and necessary items, but at great prices! The coffee shop in the back is beyond words, with flavor combinations that I’ve never heard of for coffee. I just wish I could come every day to try a new one!!! Honestly, this business is great and all, but the staff is what really blew me away. Being from Illinois, I don’t witness this kind of hospitality back home. Thank you for being you!!!
My wife and I stopped in looking for a specific piece of clothing at a good price, after we had tried the local outlets, etc. Michael and Heather were so polite and inviting to answer questions or provide recommendations for products and tips for the NP. After finding the piece I was looking for (which was discounted almost 40% less than the big stores), the Kavu bags were BOGO so we got a few of those as well. Don’t question the coffee shop inside either, I am not a coffee person, but Michael made me a protein/coffee shake that was delicious.We went shopping in a ton of places during our trip and this was hands down our favorite!

In June of 2013 Michael & Heather Shepperd left the security and benefits of corporate jobs to pursue their dream. To live and work in and around a National Park, to share their experiences and help others have their own. We started GSM Outfitters, a small store that provides both clothing and gear but also information and advice to others so they can also know the peace of mind that comes from spending time in the natural world. Our goal has never been huge profits, giant stores, lots of employees and lavish lifestyles. Instead, it is to share, explore and experience with our friends/customers.
